If you are going to Egypt, you will probably be looking to check out Cairo and see the Great Pyramids of Giza. But why stop here? The country has plenty of other amazing cities that are well worth your attention and will result in a great travel experience. Here are some of them.

Sharm el-Sheikh

Sharm el-Sheikh is home to some of Egypt’s best resorts. The area has a dry climate characterized by long summers and warm winters, making it a perfect place to enjoy some relaxing time at the beach. The waters surrounding the city are also known for their rich marine life, which includes more than 1,000 species of fish and 250 different coral reefs.

Luxor

Luxor represents an intriguing blend of a modern city and ancient ruins. Built on the remains of the Ancient Egyptian city of Thebes, Luxor is often referred to as the world’s greatest open-air museum. Tall and modern buildings surround the ruins of temples, monuments, and tombs, attributing to a unique tourist experience. 

Alexandria

Egypt’s second-largest city, Alexandria, was once home to some of the world’s most famous monuments, like the Lighthouse of Alexandria, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, and the Library of Alexandria, which led the city’s reputation as the capital of knowledge and learning. Those monuments are long gone, but the city’s former glory can still be retraced thanks to numerous museums and archeological remains.
