Finding the best flight deals is often a grueling job, but thanks to Google Flights, it doesn’t have to be anymore. Google’s online flight booking search service recently shared some intriguing tips based on their data that will make life that much easier for frequent flyers and tourists. Let’s check them out.

It’s Cheapest to Fly Early in the Week

According to the team from Google Flights, the flights that depart on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday are 12% cheaper compared to those on weekends. The deal gets better for domestic travel, as you’ll be able to save up to 20%.

Layovers Can Save You Money

If you are willing to fly via layovers, then you can make significant savings. The layover flights are, on average, 20% cheaper than non-stop ones.

Book Your Flights at Least 44 Days Before Departure

The Google Flights data show that the prices of most domestic flights are at their lowest between 60 days and 21 days before departure. The price usually hits its lowest mark 44 days before departure and then starts trending upwards again.

Don’t Wait for a Particular Day to Book Your Flight

Some passengers prefer to wait for a particular day of the week before they shop for their flight. However, according to Google Flights, this doesn’t play a significant role. It is best to make a booking as soon as you see the price that fits your budget.
