Istanbul is an exciting city that lies on two continents and has a lot to offer to tourists. Getting there and exploring everything you want to see can get expensive, so here are some tips for visiting Istanbul on a budget.
Where Should You Stay
There are many good accommodation options around the city, and your choice will really depend on personal preferences, but our heart goes to neighborhoods Sultanahmet and Beyoğlu, two of the biggest ones in the west (European) Istanbul. All the major attractions are near, so you won’t have to spend too much time and money traveling back and forth.
How to Move Around
Istanbul is a big city, but getting around with public transport is fairly easy. Try to use it whenever you can and avoid cabs that can get pretty costly.
What to See
Getting to see some of the biggest attractions will cost you some bucks, but you can always find free or cheap activities to enjoy. Look for the times when museums don’t charge and go then if you can.
