Rome, Italy, is one of the top tourist destinations in the whole world. The city’s rich history, culture, ancient ruins, amazing cuisine, and vibrant atmosphere are sure to amaze any visitor. Another great thing about Rome is that you can visit it at any time of the year and still have an amazing time. This includes the winter time, which overall might be the best time to head to Rome. Here is why.

The Weather is Still Nice

You will rarely encounter snow in Rome during winter. While the temperatures can dip on the low side, the weather is still nice and there are plenty of sunny days mixed with occasional rain. Additionally, you won’t have to deal with the high heats that come with the summer visit.

Affordable Accommodation

Winter is considered off-season in Rome, meaning that finding a great and affordable place is easy. Accommodation providers slash their prices to fill up their capacity, allowing you to score some awesome deals.

Easier Access to Tourist Attractions

Major tourist attractions are regularly packed and often sold out during the peak season. In the wintertime, this won’t be an issue. You will have no trouble getting tickets and accessing all the tourist attractions you want to see as the demand isn’t that high.

Fewer Crowds

This might be one of the best things about visiting Rome during winter. You will encounter far fewer crowds compared to other times of the year. This means less time waiting in lines, more free tables at restaurants, the ability to explore the streets freely, and an overall better chance to experience the authentic side of Rome.

Other than being a breathtaking natural wonder, Niagara Falls is also swimming in cool history and impressive stats. Whether you’re a nature lover, a history buff, or just curious, it’s time to dive into some must-know tidbits about them.

Oldest State Park

The Park where Niagara Falls resides is the oldest state park in America—some title to live up to, huh?  It was established in 1885 under the name Niagara Reservation by environmental activists who bought it to protect it from being exploited for commercial purposes. Like.

But… Not That Old!

If we switch to geological talk for a minute, it turns out that Niagara Falls is actually a toddler. They were created as part of some glacial melt action taking place at the very end of the previous Ice Age, i.e., roughly 12k years ago. While that sounds like a lot, geologically speaking, it’s practically nothing.

8+ Million Visitors Per Year

Niagara Falls is truly astounding, so it may not come as a surprise that numerous visitors head up to see it every year. But more than 8 million people from different countries? Who would have guessed? Yes, this location really is that popular, folks, so get in line.

First Hydroelectric Power Plant

It turns out that Niagara Falls was the home of the first-ever hydroelectric power plant in the world! George Westinghouse and Nikola Tesla were the ones who built it in 1885. Fast forward to today, and Niagara Falls can generate 4 million kilowatts of electricity.

Tbilisi, the charming Georgian capital has layers upon layers of secrets to uncover. While tourists crowd the cable cars and famous cheese bread cafes, there’s a whole other side to the city that most guidebooks don’t mention. Ready to explore the road less traveled in one of Europe’s most intriguing cities? Let’s jump in.

Fabrika’s Hidden Courtyard

While many visitors know Fabrika as Tbilisi’s famous hostel and creative hub, few discover the secret courtyard tucked away behind its main building. This urban oasis is home to local artists’ studios and tiny boutiques showcasing Georgian designers. Visit in the late afternoon when the fairy lights come on, and you’ll find yourself in a magical space where young creatives gather over wine and live music.

The Dezerter Bazaar’s Tea Room

Everyone talks about the Dezerter Bazaar, but hidden among the fruit stalls and spice vendors is a tiny, unmarked tea room where Tbilisi’s older generation gathers. The owner, who everyone calls Grandmother Tea, has been brewing her special blend of Georgian and Persian teas for over four decades.

The Chronicle of Georgia

Often called “Georgia’s Stonehenge” this striking monument overlooks the Tbilisi Sea. It was created by sculptor Zurab Tsereteli. This Soviet-era masterpiece features towering pillars adorned with scenes from Georgian history and Christian stories. Despite its grandeur, it remains surprisingly uncrowded!

@kimmconn The Chronicle of Georgia monument is a VERY impressive and massive monument dedicated to the rich and deep history of Georgia with 35m columns and dozens of pictures depicting it. Tourists come to Venice, Italy, to marvel at Piazza San Marco, Ponte Di Rialto, and its canals. But, there is much more to this unique city than just its most famous tourist attractions. Next time you’re in Venice, make sure to check out these hidden gems as well.

Libreria Acqua Alta

Even if you are not a bookworm, the chances are that you’ll enjoy a visit to Libreria Acqua Alta. Aside from offering an impressive amount of vintage titles, this bookstore is also famous for its unique displays including bathtubs and gondolas filled with books. On top of that, you’ll get to enjoy the company of resident cats.

Cannaregio Neighborhood

If you want to get a real feel of Venice and move away from crowds of tourists, the Cannaregio neighborhood is the spot. You can wander its streets, soak up the marveling architecture, and get to know locals. On top of that, this area is great for sampling authentic food.

Ponte de Chiodo

Venice has more than 400 bridges but Ponte de Chiodo is unique among the bunch. It is one of the oldest bridges in the city, dating back to medieval times, and the only one remaining with no rails attached to it. A great spot to take some amazing pics but make sure not to fall into the canals.

Pinterest’s trend forecast has given us many valuable insights about what to expect from 2025, and one of their hottest new trends is related to tourism. “Peak travel” emerged as the most popular travel trend on this photo-sharing platform, and it’s all about leaving city life behind and heading to the mountains.

Pinterest’s press release explaining this rising trend reads, “Cities have totally peaked. In 2025, mountain ranges will become the go-to travel destination as Gen Z and Gen X seek out treetop views and that fresh mountain air. Gear up for your next elevacation.”

Skiing fits are one of the most-searched terms under this category, pointing out the fact that skiing will be an essential part of these mountain holidays. Pinterest also singled out several destinations that experienced a rise in searches, including the Portillo ski resort in Chile, the Dolomites in Italy, and the Atlas Mountains, which stretch through Morocco, Algeria, and Tunisia.

Pinterest also joined forces with Marriott Bonvoy to help people experience the magic of “peak travel” in real life. They announced the launch of “Peak Travel Concierge” in New York City, where visitors can receive personalized mountain-inspired gifts, along with an opportunity to enter to win an exclusive stay at one of Marriott Bonvoy’s mountain destinations.

The views are amazing too and it’s a great place to learn about Georgia!
