Don’t Drink These Things on the Plane

The drinks trolley coming around is a bit of a highlight on a plane ride. It means that you’re settled in your seat, your carry-on has been stowed, and you’ve reached the correct altitude. It also means that you get some sustenance! The trolleys are usually filled with dozens of options, but we suggest that you steer clear of these.

Carbonated Drinks

Yes, that Coca-Cola looks terribly appealing, but trust us when we tell you to pass. Bubbly beverages can lead to bloating and serious discomfort due to the change in air pressure. So, skip the soda.

Caffeine

You may feel like you need a cup of coffee or three, especially if you’ve caught a red-eye flight. Yet, all the caffeine is going to do is mess with your sleep patterns. It can also cause dehydration. Instead, ask for a herbal tea or hot chocolate; and if you really need your coffee fix, definitely go decaffeinated.

Tap Water

It is super important to stay hydrated while flying. Water is the best choice, but it’s a good idea to avoid tap water. Water tanks and pipes on airplanes are not always the most hygienic and can sometimes contain bacteria that causes illness. Stick to bottled.
