At this time of year, many of us take short breaks away to get some rest and to enjoy the build up to Christmas in a different country. Across Europe, visiting Christmas markets is incredibly popular, whilst others fit in some festive skiing or city exploring. Wherever you’re going for your festive getaway, make sure you follow these packing rules to help you make the most of your break.

Don’t Overpack

A good rule for any holiday, if there’s even a small chance that you’ll be bringing home some Christmas gifts, then this rule is extra important. Unexpected extra luggage can cost you dearly at the airport, so pack light to allow you to bring some trinkets home with you.

Bring Some Bling

If you’re away to celebrate the festive season, the chances are you’ll want to dress up at least one evening and go somewhere special. Bring some (inexpensive) sparkly jewels to set the mood and chime with the festive scenery.

Luxury Fabrics

To match your sparkly earrings and jewels, pack some clothing in a luxury, party-ready fabric like silk, velvet or sequins. This will help you feel instantly Christmassy, and dressed to hit the town.
