People love balloons. Big or small, red, green or yellow, rounded, shaped like your favorite character, filled with helium or hot air balloon etc., it doesn’t matter; the truth is that balloons always make people happy.

Hot air balloons are used for transport, but in the name of their fascinating size and beauty, a type of air show, where ballooners display and fly their balloons together, is organized.

The largest balloon festival in the world takes place in Albuquerque, New Mexico. For four decades, the Albuquerque International Balloon Festival is held from October 6th to October 14th. For nine mornings and nights, 500 beautiful, breathtaking balloons adorn the crispy sky each year. The Albuquerque International Balloon Festival is the only balloon event where you can walk among the balloons and talk to the pilots.

How it began?

The Balloon Fiesta began in 1972, as a highlight of a 50th birthday celebration for 770 KOB Radio station when the station manager asked Sid Cutter, the owner of Cutter Flying Service and the first person to own a hot air balloon in New Mexico, to participate.

This festival is one of Albuquerque’s largest tourist attractions.
