San Francisco is one of those places everyone wants to visit at least once, but it also happens to be one of the most expensive cities in the US. Renting a room for $20 or less isn’t something you should hope for, but is it even possible to find a cheap place to stay, and where should you look for one?
Booking
The most popular directory for online reservations comes with a wide range of options, but the decent ones usually start at around $40. It’s a bit pricy, but fortunately some of them are located in the very heart of the city and come with a free breakfast.
AirBnb
Rooms on AirBnb are even more expensive than on Booking, but they may be a good option if you’re looking for something cozier. Just keep in mind that service and cleaning fee can be pretty price while going through search results.
Couchsurfing
At the end of the day, if every room you stumble upon seems to be out of your price range and you’re brave enough to try something new, Couchsurfing is totally free and your host may be willing to show you around the city.
