Is it Worth it to Travel Somewhere For a Concert?

We’ve all been in that place where we’re obsessed with an artist or band, so we proceed to look up their tour dates, only to learn that they’re playing in a city that’s only flying distance away. We’re not interested in waiting till their next tour, and we’re not interested in seeing any other bands. We have one desire and desire only—seeing this band. Is it actually worth flying to another city just to see the artist? Maybe… and maybe not.

Consider the Distance

Remember the fact that you’ll already be spending money on tickets to see the band and that’s before you take into account the price of the airfare. Then you factor in merchandise that you’ll obviously be spending money on, as well as all of the other accommodations you’ll be shelling out money for wherever it is that you’re traveling to. If the destination isn’t too far and the plane ticket isn’t too pricey, then go for it. Otherwise, maybe wait for a future concert—unless of course you’re rich and have the means to go to this one.

Vacation Time?

The other thing you can maybe do is combine this concert with a vacation that you may have been planning. If you haven’t taken a trip in a year, perhaps this is an opportunity to do so while seeing your favorite band.
