Tourists who want to experience Italy in a unique way should seriously consider taking the newly-opened hiking trail that connects the cities of Bergamo and Brescia. The 80-mile-long trail goes through 34 municipalities, two UNESCO sites, three wine regions, and a number of natural attractions.

Three years in the making, the hiking trail known as “The Camino” aims to celebrate Bergamo and Brescia’s status as 2023’s Capital of Culture while promoting sustainable tourism. Hikers are promised a one-of-a-kind experience that offers an opportunity to meet Italy in an entirely different way compared to conventional tours.

The hiking trail is divided into several stages and is designed to be completed in six days. Every stage comes with specialized points of interest, including contemporary artworks, land art activities, and tourist attractions like environmental and architectural beauties.

In order to help the experience go as smoothly as possible, the hiking trail was improved from an infrastructural point. This includes new signage, accommodation facilities, and hospitality establishments.

Some of the attractions that you can expect to encounter along the hiking trail include Bergamo’s medieval old town neighborhood Citta Alta, Brescia’s Santa Giulia monastery complex, Lago d’Iseo, Mompiano Valley, and much more.

So what are you waiting for? Book a trip to Italy, get your hiking boots on, and go on an adventure.
