Bangkok-based foodie and adventurer Mark Wiens believes in the power of food.

“I believe when you travel, there’s no better way to connect with people than through food,” he reflected on his website. “No matter what culture or country you’re from, or wherever you choose to travel, the one thing you and I have in common is that food is a huge part of our lives.”

Originally from the United States, Wiens was raised in central Africa before returning to the US for university. After graduating with a degree in Global Studies, he bought a one-way ticket to Southeast Asia, where his real adventure began.

Based in Bangkok, Thailand since 2009, where he blogs, vlogs, and—more importantly—eats, Wiens has gained a massive following over the years.

“At first, I started making extremely simple street food videos, and I really had no idea what I was doing,” he admits. “Years down the road, making food videos on YouTube is one of the main things I do.”

Now with more than 1.2 million followers on Instagram and almost 7 million subscribers on YouTube, he’s the ultimate guide not only to eating out in Thailand but to eating out in general.

With special focus on spicy food, Wiens will introduce you to authentic food and restaurants around the world, pushing you out of your comfort zone one bite at a time!
