Picking a travel buddy that’s compatible with your travel style is a must if you want to get the most out of your trip. Some people love to plan and wake up early every day, and others like to be more spontaneous and wander around. Either way, you want to make sure you and your travel buddy are on the same page before you leave. Here are some important questions to ask.

Are you comfortable being on your own?

Traveling with someone means you’re about to spend A LOT of time together, but that doesn’t mean you can’t get some alone time (even if that just means going for a short walk by yourself for a bit). If you want the opportunity to go off on your own, it’s important to make sure your travel buddy is comfortable with that!

What is your budget for the trip?

Budgets pretty much determine everything on a trip. Where you eat, where you stay, whether you will go on tours, etc. It’s so important to find out if you are both willing to spend the same amount of money, and if it differs, can you reach a compromise?

What is one thing that’s a must-do for this trip?

Everyone deserves the opportunity to do that thing they really want to do, so make sure you both account for each other’s must-do! This will ensure that neither one of you leaves the trip feeling like they missed out.
