Street Art Lovers Must Check Out Flash Forward Laneways While in Melbourne, Australia

If you’re looking for amazing street art in each new city you visit, Melbourne won’t leave you disappointed. Street artists in this Australian metropolis joined forces to work on a project called Flash Forward and transformed some of the city’s most iconic laneways into works of art.

The main idea behind this project was to showcase Melbourne’s creative culture and unlock “the previously hidden potential of some of the city’s lesser-known laneways.” In order to make it happen, the City of Melbourne partnered up with the Victorian Government and brought together over 80 creatives of different styles and backgrounds.

They embarked on this artistic journey with one goal in mind—revitalizing 40 of Melbourne’s historic laneways by using lighting, music, and creative installations to transform them into unique works of art. By doing so, they managed to breathe new life into some of the long-forgotten corners of Melbourne and turned them into picture-perfect attractions.

Flash Forward remains one of Melbourne’s best-hidden secrets, but it’s easy to find the laneways once you’re aware of their existence. Rainbow Alley, Langs Lane, and Ulster Lane are some of the most iconic spots included in this project, but the list goes on. You can find it on Flash Forward’s official website, with an interactive map taking you to each artwork.
