]]>This beautiful lake is a perfect getaway even before the summer months because it provides beautiful wildflowers to look at and wading rather than heavy swimming. That makes it as good of a destination for spring as for summer, and there are several other beaches in the area that you can visit too.
If you’re looking to pair your tourist trip to Chicago with a beach visit, this is a more “commercial” beach to visit which is close to all the attractions and has lots of businesses and infrastructure surrounding it. It’s also got a lifeguard during the day, so swimming is encouraged.
The beach at the Leelanau State Park is a great addition to its hiking trails, beautiful dunes, and local lighthouse. It’s got beautiful coastal views and plenty of nature to enjoy.

]]>The crown jewel of Lake Huron is Mackinac Island, a small piece of land stuck between Michigan’s Upper and Lower Peninsulas. Michigan’s most popular vacation destination, you’ll find art museums, former military forts, forests, restaurants, shops, and walking trails in a peaceful setting here.
If you head to Sleeper State Park on the southern shore of Lake Huron on the right, warm, sunny summer day, you might think you’re at the Atlantic Ocean! This paradise is a great spot for sunbathing on the peaceful beaches and for taking the boat out for a spin.
The coolest drive you’ll find in the Lake Huron area is the River Road Scenic Byway, a 23-mile stretch of road in northern Michigan that takes you along the Au Sable River through forested areas until reaching the lake.

]]>The post Take a Walking Meditation at This Lavender Labyrinth in Michigan appeared first on Traveler Dreams.
]]>At first glance, it looks like a maze, but rather, it’s a place to meditate and heal and the owner the farm, Barbara Bull, shared with Better Homes & Gardens, “There’s a big difference between a maze and a labyrinth. A maze is a puzzle, it’s a form of entertainment, where a labyrinth is this wonderful, thoughtful, contemplative, meditative walk.”
To complete a walk in the labyrinth it takes about an hour and it’s about two miles long. If you’ve visited the garden before, you may notice that it’s a bit smaller than it used to be and that’s because a polar vortex in 2019 caused a lot of the lavender to die, but within the next few years, the lavender will be back to the way it used to look.
Once you’ve completed the lavender labyrinth, you can move on to the farm’s herb garden which is made of 12 interlocking circles that have dozens of herbs. Before you leave, don’t forget to check out the market which features homemade pies, bread hot out of the oven, jams, muffins, fudge, cookies, and other delicious baked goods.
