]]>Yes, taking photos in public can be a little bit awkward sometimes. Whether you’re crouching down to get the right angle, doing exaggerated poses, or using a selfie stick, it can be a little embarrassing. But you have nothing to be ashamed of, and who cares about people who might judge you?
Speaking of selfie sticks, there are plenty of tools that can make your travel Instagrams even better like selfie sticks, tripods, and remote controls. They’re all pretty affordable and make a huge difference, so why not try them out?
If you spend a lot of time on Instagram, you’ve probably already seen dozens of photos of people at the location you’re visiting. But don’t fall into the trap of just recreating those photos. Try to approach it with a fresh perspective and find your own unique way to photograph.

]]>Fortunately for us, Vancouver-based Canadian photographer Callum Snape has an Instagram account that shows off some of the best pictures you’ll ever see of his home country, providing us with plenty of inspiration to travel to Canada.
Snape’s snapshots focus on the forests, mountains, and coasts that define the wild allure of Canada. There’s no doubt about how much beauty Canada has to offer, and few come close to showing it off as brilliantly as Snape does.
Follow the change of the seasons in Canada through Snape’s shots, as he takes the focus from tranquil, blue skies over meadows in summer to snow-capped peaks in the winter. You’ll never get bored looking at just how much variety Canada has to offer throughout its large landmass and its seasons.

]]>You can follow Herbee and Audree’s adventures on @mr.pokee Instagram page, which is run by Talitha Girnus.
Girnus started it in 2015 when she got her first hedgehog named Mr. Pokee, who unfortunately passed away in 2019. Herbee and Audree are continuing what he started, and it’s difficult not to fall in love them when you first see them.
“Between all the serious things happening in the world every day, Pokee and now also Herbee and Audree are here to give you a reason to be happy and smile,” we read on Girnus’s blog.
This is also true in the current situation. Given that we’re in the middle of pandemic, she and her animals aren’t able to travel, but they enjoy taking fun photos outside and hope for the situation to get better soon. Follow these unlikely friends on Instagram if you want to see more of their adventures in the future!

]]>A thrill-seeker who’s always in the midst of planning her next trip, Raymond has bungee jumped over the Zambezi River, fished for piranhas in the Amazon, and climbed active volcanoes in Guatemala and Ecuador, amongst her many adventures.
As the author of the award-winning travel blog “Oneika the Traveller,” she is the recipient of a Gold Medal in the 2018 SATW Lowell Thomas Travel Journalism Competition for Best Travel Blog and was also named Wanderful’s 2019 Creator of the Year. But incredibly enough, she didn’t grow up traveling but discovered a passion for it quite later in life.
“I grew up in Toronto in an immigrant family—my parents were born and raised in Jamaica,” she recalled in an interview with Passion Passport. “We didn’t really have much of a culture of travel.”
It was only during her studies in university that she took a leap of faith. “Eventually I realized it was travel that was really feeding me. It wasn’t necessarily the idea of being away from home, but the idea of discovering, of learning something new every day, of stretching my boundaries and living outside of my comfort zone—that’s what I really enjoyed.”
Now, her platform means she gets to reach others and inspire them to live a more adventuress life. Dedicated to inspiring people of color to see the world, she’s a fierce supporter of women who travel and has keynoted at the Women in Travel Summit, at Women’s Travel Fest.
“In the early 2000s, when I was traveling and writing, there were very few black people doing this online,” she notes. “I got a lot of positive feedback.”
Follow her for those good vacation vibes.

]]>“This is not like most other travel blogs,” she writes on her website, “my posts are not in any way chronological and I prefer writing about getting dumped on a beach in Thailand than writing about the best places to stay in Brazil.”
Currently back in her hometown of Winnipeg, the past months have saw her slowing it down to a standstill. But what exactly should a travel blogger do when the whole world is under lock down? “Right now, travelling as a tourist isn’t safe,” shared Holeman in a viral Instagram post. “While I’m excited to take some small road trips around Manitoba, I have no desire to travel internationally until I don’t have to worry about bringing COVID-19 back to my home community, and I don’t have to worry about bringing COVID-19 to a community abroad.”
“I love travelling, and I’m lucky enough to make my living from it,” she adds. “But I can’t in good conscience put anyone at risk, whether they’re a loved one or a stranger.” We can’t but admire her reslience.

]]>Instead of following a bunch of individual travel bloggers, opt for several travel-themed boards. They collect the very best photos from all over Instagram in one place, and you can use them to discover a lot of new places around the world.
One of the best things about travel-themed hubs is that they often write detailed posts with a lot of useful information. That’s why you should give extra attention to captions before giving new pages a follow, and make sure they’re interesting and insightful.
If you’re still new to photography, you won’t be 100% sure how to capture some tourist attractions before seeing other people do it. Going through hashtags and geotags on Instagram can be a great source of inspiration for future photos of the place you’re visiting.

]]>The British travel blogger, who has 170,000 followers on Instagram, bought a van with her boyfriend Will earlier this year. They named it Pat the Van and prepared to embark on a journey across Europe in their new home, which once belonged to a couple that used it to transport their husky dogs around Norway.
Traveling in a van gave them a new sense of freedom because they finally have the ability to live off the grid without needing to stay in campsites. “I think there is something so freeing about living in the van – we very rarely plan our trips in advance and do most of our research on the road giving us creative freedom. We drive when we want to drive and stop when we want to stop,” Meyrick told Euro News.
Pat the Van features a double bed, wardrobe, seating, and kitchen area, and they even managed to squeeze in a small tub and a fridge. The van is also surprisingly sustainable since it comes with solar panels on the roof that generate all the electricity they could possibly need.

These two go around the world with their cameras in order to capture the best shots of all of their scenic destinations. Despite the stress of traveling with their significant other, these two definitely have a great time and check out an incredible number of fascinating places.
It’s always a surprise to find out where this globe-trotting couple has ended up when checking out the “stories” tab on their account. One of my favorite recent trips that they’ve taken was a journey to Poland, where they sampled all kinds of tasty dishes.
Be sure to give this inspiring couple a follow, and start booking a trip with your partner as soon as possible!
