When you get that itch to travel, you might want to throw a dart at a globe and hop right on a plane. But if you’re vegan, you have to make sure before you leave that there will be food for you to eat. Luckily, veganism is a growing dietary choice that many people are making all over the world. In addition, many cultures already have a traditionally mostly vegan diet. Here are some of the most vegan-friendly cities to visit.

Bangkok, Thailand

Since Thailand has a Buddhist tradition, much of its food is already plant-based and vegan. So even in restaurants that aren’t specifically vegan, there are lots of options that are just vegetables. The one thing to look out for is fish sauce, which is in a lot of dishes—you may have to ask for it to be omitted in your meal. There’s also lots of vegan street food like fresh fruit and more.

Tel Aviv, Israel

Tel Aviv has one of the highest vegan concentrations in the world, and its restaurants reflect this. Most have some vegan options and there are many fully vegan restaurants from burger joints to gourmet food. It doesn’t hurt that much of the local street food like falafel and hummus is naturally vegan, too.

Palma De Mallorca, Spain

As a beautiful city in addition to its vegan options, Palma is a great choice if you’re thinking of traveling to Spain. The city boasts not only vegan restaurants but vegan hotels and even a vegan cooking school.
