Jetlag is one of the most annoying things to deal with when flying to another location. If you’re flying to somewhere that has a 7-10 hour time difference, it can sometimes be downright brutal. There are all kinds of methods that people spout to beat jetlag, but often they don’t work as well as you’d like. But this is a tip that’ll work a lot better than you expect.

The reason jetlag is a thing has a lot to do with our physical bodies. Even though mentally we’re aware that we’re in a new time zone, our bodies haven’t exactly caught up. As a result, hardcore jetlag ensues. The trick is to somehow convince your body that you’re in a new time zone—and the best way to do that is to get as physical as possible.

We’re talking about getting out of the house and working up a sweat. On the day you arrive—no matter how tired you are—spend as much time as you possibly can in the city you’re visiting, running errands, exploring cathedrals, and simply being active. Better yet, go for a jog or play a sport. Anything to get your body moving.

By engaging in physical activities, you’re forcing your body to agree that it’s daytime. You’re syncing up your body with your mind, and this will help you beat jetlag in the most organic way possible.
