The island if Ireland that’s known as the Emerald Isle thanks to its beautiful, green, sweeping landscapes that turn it into one of the most gorgeous pieces of land on the planet. Anyone who is looking for a place with marvelous views and natural beauty should definitely look into planning a trip to Ireland and visiting these three spots as well as many more that the island has to offer.

Cliffs of Moher (County Clare)

Perhaps the most well-known natural attraction in all of Ireland is the Cliffs of Moher. Towering above the Atlantic Ocean at heights reaching up to 700 feet, this line of exposed shale and sandstone stretches nearly 9 miles along the County Clare coast and is an obligatory stop.

Giant’s Causeway (Northern Ireland)

Traveling up to Northern Ireland, you will find the Giant’s Causeway. Here, a volcanic eruption around 50 million years ago created over 40,000 interlocking columns of black rock that look like something from another planet. Many of the rocks now resemble objects like boots and eyes after millions of years of weathering has eroded them.

Clew Bay (County Mayo)

Have you ever heard of a “sunken drumlin” before? Drumlins are small, egg-shaped hills that are created when an ice sheet recedes and the ones that you will see in County Mayo’s beautiful Clew Bay have been partially sunken by the ocean. The beautiful sight of some of their green tops peeking out of their water creates tiny, charming islands.
