When most people think of the most important travel apps, their minds usually go to Google Maps, an app that helps you navigate your way through foreign cities. Or Google Translate, which helps you converse with others in another language. Or even something as convenient as Booking.com, which allows you to easily book your stay at various hotels throughout the world. But here’s an app that’s also super important—if you truly care about safety.
Life360
Life360 is an app that allows people to track where you are. All you need to do is link your phone with someone else’s (who also has the app), and they’ll be able to see where you are anywhere in the world, assuming you have your phone on you. At first glance, this may sound like a creepy app, but it’s actually the furthest thing from it.
Safety First
First off, no one will be tracking you unless you give them full permission to do so. There’s even a setting in the app that allows you to stop being tracked if you so desire. But you wouldn’t want that, because having a loved one track you is the best way they’ll know you’re okay. Unfortunately, traveling to all kinds of crazy destinations can be just as dangerous as it is exciting—and if heaven forbid something were to happen to you, your loved ones who aren’t with you will sleep more soundly knowing that they can find you, or help the authorities do so.
