Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary
Brisbane is home to the oldest and largest koala sanctuary, which opened its doors in 1927. Over the course of the last century, the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary grew into one of Brisbane’s most popular attractions and you can find many native species on its grounds, from koalas and kangaroos to Tasmanian devils to wombats.
Daisy Hill Koala Centre
Safely tucked away between Brisbane and the Gold Coast, the Daisy Hill Koala Centre opened its doors in 1995. It’s nestled amongst eucalypt trees and features interactive exhibits and observation decks, allowing you to learn more about koalas and their conservation.
Brisbane Koala Bushlands
Located a short drive away from Brisbane’s central business district, Brisbane Koala Bushlands are one of the best places near this city to see koalas in their natural habitat. They’re a part of the Koala Coast Network, which protects around 5,000 koalas and many other native animals.
