Dijon is considered to be one of the most beautiful cities in France, and it’s only an hour and a half drive away from Paris. Once we’re able to travel again, we know it will be among the first places on our to-visit list. Here are three reasons why you should visit Dijon.

Gastronomy

If you enjoy trying out new food while traveling, Dijon is the perfect place for that. Here you can try the original crème de cassis liqueur and Dijon mustard that’s famous around the world. Make sure to visit Boutique Moutarde Maille that was founded in 1845. Here you can try over 40 types of mustard and many other condiments.

Architecture

If you want to see another design by the man who constructed the Eiffel Tower—head to the city market. Civil engineer Gustave Eiffel was born in Dijon, and the city has many other amazing things you can see if you’re into architecture. The visitors enjoy its clean pedestrian street with 15th-century homes sitting along the way.

It holds a big collection of pieces from various historical periods, as well as the tombs of Philippe the Bold and John the Fearless. Other beautiful museums in the city include the Musée Magnin, Musée Archéologique, Musée Rude, and Musée de la Vie Bourguignonne.
