Atlanta is known as the peach city but there is so much culture to explore in one of the oldest metropolitan areas in the U.S. south. The High Museum in Atlanta boasts one of the most eclectic art collections in the country featuring traditional paintings, a sculpture garden, folk craft, and contemporary multi-media art.

The High Museum has a small admission fee and you can spend a whole day exploring all of the wings and sitting on the grounds. Located in Atlanta’s Midtown area you are sure to find a dozen cute restaurants and walk by beautiful historic buildings. The museum neighbors Atlanta’s symphony orchestra venue which has a full calendar of contemporary and classical performances alike.

High Museum is constantly hosting artist lectures and performances. In addition to the museum’s stellar permanent collection there are hundreds of traveling exhibitions including an upcoming Yoyoi Kusama exhibition in 2018! Additionally, Richard Meier is the architect of the HIGH, also known for the Getty Museum in L.A., which makes the visit even more beautiful.
