Let’s say you’ve embarked on a fun and exciting travel adventure with your best friend. You’ve talked about this trip for months, and the two of you have been anticipating your crazy adventures. But now that you’re actually on the trip, things aren’t exactly what you expected. Is your friend not having the same experience as you? Here’s how to know if your traveling partner is upset, and what to do about it.

Something Feels Off

When you’re back home, you and your friend are in a place of comfort. The way you two interact has always been within the same context. In a sense, you’ve never really tested your relationship in a foreign environment, so it’s not crazy to think that something might change. Now that you’re in a new place, you can tell that something feels off. They don’t seem confident in the same way they are back home, and they’re not following your lead in areas that you’re gung ho about. What are you supposed to do?

Talk To Them

It’s incredibly important to talk to them about what’s wrong. This is where your friendship will truly be tested. If you can understand what they’re going through by listening to them, you may find that your friendship becomes stronger than ever before. And hey, maybe by just showing your support, your friend will actually come out of their funk and love the rest of the trip!
