Packing for a trip can be an intimidating experience. But what if you have to pack for more than one trip, and fit everything into a carry-on? Impossible, you say?

Not with these 4 helpful tricks for traveling to more than one destination with only a carry-on.

Planning is Everything

Although it sounds like a no-brainer, we actually often forget to make a list of what we need to take.

This means planning what you are going to wear on each day, as well as including items that are versatile enough to be worn several times.

Sort

Place your clothes in separate piles, one for each trip. This includes underwear and workout gear, as well as a plastic shopping bag.

At destination number 1, take out only the pile with the items you have designated for this trip, and leave the rest alone.

Put your used clothes into the plastic bag and return to your case.

Follow the formula

In terms of accessories, shoes are so bulky that they can take up most of your carry-on. So, follow this equation: 3 pairs of shoes, 2 bags, and 1 each of scarf, sunglasses, and hat.

Plan your outfits around your shoes.

Your Personal Item

Whether you choose a tote or a backpack, be ruthless about what you pack in your personal item.

Yes, you do need your laptop for work and a book, but you don’t need four books and a ton of makeup.
