]]>The first thing that needs to be said about the Inca Trail is that it leads to Machu Picchu—one of the seven wonders of the world. This alone should be enough to inspire you to embark on this incredible trek, especially if you’re someone who appreciates stellar views and historical locations.
Another thing to note is that the journey holds some of the most breathtaking things you’ll ever lay eyes on. From the monumental Andes Mountains to the Amazonian Jungle, these are the kinds of things you won’t ever forget, and no picture will ever do it justice.
Finally, another reason that the Inca Trail will certainly serve you well is that it’s a rigorous workout. If you love hiking because of how it keeps you in shape, then this four-to-five day uphill trail will certainly be a challenge that you’ll find worthwhile.

]]>There are different versions of the hike you can take. The long one, that takes roughy a few days to complete, and the shorter one, which you can do in a day. However, even if you do take the short one, don’t think for one second that it’ll be a walk in the park. You’ll be walking on a steadily steep incline throughout much of the distance, and if you’re not in good shape, you’ll need to bring your “A-game”.
We don’t say this for shaming purposes. We merely seek to advise you if you’re thinking of going. Of course, there’s nothing wrong with a little challenge, and a hard hike can be a great thing. Not to mention the fact that you’ll be treated to some of the most gorgeous views in the entire world. If you’ve gotten this far and you’re still intrigued, then what are you waiting for?

]]>There are many hiking trails in the world (in a way every footpath is a hiking trail) but not many are as famous as the magnificent Inca Trail. Its fame is very well earned since not many hiking trails offer one of the New Seven World Wonders as its final stop.
The Inca trail is a hiking trail in Peru that consists of three different and overlapping trails that lead the hiker through famous Inca sights in the Peruvian Andes, culminating with the famous Inca citadel Machu Picchu.
Historically, much of the trail was constructed by the Inca civilization connecting important settlements, which is why a large proportion of the trail is paved.
The trail offers the visitor an epic journey in the Andes spanning through different terrains and breathtaking scenes of nature. Also, think of the award that awaits you at the end as a prize for enduring the physical part of the trip – the astonishing views of Machu Picchu.

]]>One of my favorite spots to visit Peru is Cuzco, a city that is strongly tied to the history of the Incan Empire, serving as the empire’s capital from the 13th to 16th century. This city is located at over 11,000 feet above sea level in the foothills of the Andes Mountains.
Here, you can discover all kinds of things about Incan history. For example, one of the best things to do in Cuzco is to take a trip to Saqsaywaman, the ruins of a former Inca complex.
Another great way to get in touch with Incan history in Cuzco is to visit Qorikancha, located in the center of the city. This was the most important temple in the Incan Empire and is a must-visit for anyone interested in the area’s history.
Cuzco, on top of all of the things we’ve already mentioned, is also a great place to use as a base for a trip to Machu Picchu.
Be sure to visit Cuzco if you find ourself in Peru!
