Los Angeles goes by many names, such as the City of Angels, Tinsel Town, Hollywood, and plenty others. As the home of countless celebrities, outsiders sometimes think that walking around L.A. means you’ll be hanging around movie stars 24/7. This popular Californian city has a certain shiny veneer that doesn’t always tell the full story, but there are definitely some truths you can believe. Here are some things you can expect when traveling to L.A.

You Might See a Celebrity, But Don’t Count on It

Sure, there are the occasional moments where a star might pop up at The Grove (an outdoor shopping mall) or pharmacy. It certainly happens from time to time. But definitely don’t travel to L.A. if you’re only doing it to see celebrities, because it’s still pretty rare, and chances are they’re not going to want to stop and chat.

Hollywood is a Tourist Trap, But it Can Still Be Fun

Walking around Hollywood has endless museums and cool things to check out. Again, it’s not a place where celebrities will be waiting to shake your hand. It’s more likely that you’ll meet a homeless person asking for change. The thing is, you probably won’t have any change because of how expensive everything is there.

The Natural Beauty

With everyone focused on the glitz and glamour, no one really talks about the beautiful nature L.A. has to offer. In addition to the sunny but not humid weather (which is reason enough to visit), there are many local hikes and trails that offer gorgeous green scenery to enjoy on any day of the week.
