Not to be confused with the American franchise of the same name, Australian Sea World is located on the Gold Coast, Queensland and it’s much more dedicated to the ethical care of sea animals, including rescue and rehabilitation of sick, injured, or orphaned wildlife.
Nickelodeon Land is one of its themed areas, and it’s been around since 2015, taking place that was once occupied by Cartoon Network Cartoon Beach and Sesame Street Beach. It currently features six rides, inspired by the beloved Nickelodeon classics that we all grew up with.
Nickelodeon Land has been designed with younger kids in mind, and it doesn’t feature any wild rollercoaster. Dora’s Fiesta Carousel and SpongeBob’s Boating School Blast are two of its biggest draws. In addition to various rides, Nickelodeon Land also offers live shows inspired by PAW Patrol and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

]]>Paronella first visited Australia on his honeymoon, and his love for this country was so strong that he spent an entire decade creating the estate of his dreams. He started by planting thousands of trees, and built everything from a grand castle to hydroelectric generating plant until 1935, when the park officially opened its doors.
This natural wonder was Paronella’s labor of love, but many natural disasters threatened its existence in the following decades. Mark and Judy Evans eventually purchased it from Paronella’s descendants and opened it to the public.
If you’re thinking about seeing it in person, you’ll have to set aside $47 to spend three hours exploring its natural and man-made wonders, which have attracted thousands of tourists and won countless awards over the years.

]]>Created by the sculptor and environmentalist Jason deCaires Taylor, the museum is certainly unique. It will feature installations and sculptures submerged in the water. Taylor is using art to raise awareness of the threat the ecosystem faces.
“The Australian Institute of Marine Science has a series of temperature loggers around the reef. It will compile this data and feed it into the sculpture, so that changes in temperature will be seen in real time,” the artist said.
He also explained: “Our oceans are going through rapid change, and there are huge threats, from rising sea temperatures to acidification, and a large amount of pollution entering the system.
“Part of creating an underwater museum is about changing our value systems – thinking about the sea floor as something sacred, something that we should be protecting and not taking for granted.”
One exhibit includes a solar-powered sculpture of a young girl who changes color based on the live water-temperature data. Others will be partially or fully submerged underwater.
The exhibits will be spread out across Queensland’s coat and will open in December 2019.
