]]>The event is known as Estivales and it’s so successful that it’s been held in Montpellier for over 20 years. Locals and tourists alike gather on the Esplanade Charles de Gaulle where they’ll find dozens of food and wine vendors as well as local artisans who’ve come to sell their goods. Concerts and live music are also key highlights of the festivities.
This year, Estivales has been moved to a new location known as Domaine d’O, a park and open-air theater not far from the original spot. Admission is free, and for five Euros visitors will receive two glasses of wine and an engraved glass to keep. If there’s anything we love more than a summer festival, it’s affordable wine.
Estivales runs every Friday in July and August from 6:30 P.M. to 11:30 P.M.

]]>This rule applies for all seasons, not just the summer—never bring too many shoes along. Wear your bulkiest pair as you travel, and stick to an extra pair or two in your suitcase, but make sure it’s easy to pair them with all of your clothes.
Even if you’re traveling in the summer, you should use a piece or two of warmer clothing. They’ll come in handy just in case if evenings get cold and the weather changes.
If there’s one piece of clothing that will be taking barely any space in your suitcase, it’s swimwear. Feel free to bring at least two different swimsuits to give them enough time to dry if you want to switch during the day.
There’s no need to pay for expensive luggage fees when traveling during warmer seasons. Summer clothes are pretty light, take barely any space, and it’s easy to wash them on the go, so you can easily fit them inside a carry-on.

]]>Most people plan their travel vacation when they can get time off work, and that’s why it’s best to travel with someone on the same schedule. Check in to see if you and your friend can take days off at the same time before making any concrete plans for the rest of your trip.
Talking about money is often an uncomfortable conversation, but it’s necessary when it comes to traveling with your friends. If your budget is limited, you should let them know so you could book accommodation, flights, and plan other activities that fit into everyone’s budget.
You don’t really know someone until you travel with them, but it’s worth discussing your personal travel styles and expectations for this trip. Talk about places and experiences you want to explore and you’ll know if you’re compatible enough to embark on this trip.

]]>Do you hate the beach because you’re not a fan of warm temperatures in general? If that’s the case, opt for a summer destination with a mild climate. Alaska, Canada, Iceland, and Scandinavian countries are ideal summer destinations for people who don’t enjoy soaking up the sun.
If you’re an adventure-seeker who finds beach holidays extremely boring, how about hitting the road this summer? Road trips are much more fulfilling if you enjoy discovering new places, camping in nature, and going on spontaneous adventures with no dull moment in sight.
If you prefer sightseeing to lying on the beach, city breaks are a much better way to spend your free time. They’re not as relaxing as classic summer holidays, but you’ll get to learn more about the culture and history of a new country along the way.

]]>This medieval Croatian city has a Gothic atmosphere. Its old cobblestone streets are studded with old churches and cathedrals, like the beautifully elaborate Church of St. Euphemia, where you can climb the old bell tower for a view of the city.
The beautiful harbor is an active fishing port and provides a panoramic view of the seaside architecture. A stroll along the water can be a breezy way to end a grueling day of sightseeing, and the perfect ending of a Malvasia toast in one of the waterside bars.
If you’re wondering where to stay in this gem of a town, try the Hotel Monte Mulini, a hidden-away spot with access to the water that allows a private dip in the Adriatic, a renowned chef restaurant, and a wine cellar that prides itself on a collection of more than 500 Croatian wines.
To complete your Rovinj experience, try the local produce, including Olive oil, honey, and the local variety of grappa, preferably from one of the city’s farmers’ markets.
